I’m Laura MacDonald, creator of The Kiwi Country Girl website and your new homesteading bestie!

Over the last 12 years, my husband Josh and I have slowly built our homestead with our four kids alongside us. We started with a few chickens and now we:

Grow most of our vegetables
Raise animals for eggs and meat
Make our meals, snacks, yoghurt, bread, preserves and more from scratch

We do this while Josh works full‑time and I run a business from home while running around after 4 small, wild country kids! So I have to keep things simple and realistic.

What I’ve learned is this:
